Allied Waste Services is more than just a business partner in Daly City, Colma and Broadmoor - we also want to participate in and actively support the community at large. Our employees not only live, work and raise their families in this community, we also embrace the opportunity to participate in volunteer efforts throughout our service area. Whether it's educating school children on the importance of recycling or supporting numerous cities, non-profit and community-wide events, we are proud to lend a helping hand.

In addition to providing contributions to a number of special events and organizations, Allied also provides in-kind services (providing all trash and recycling collection at no charge) when applicable.

Allied Waste of Daly City participated in the Town of Colma Earth Event held April 23 at the F Street Community Center. Allied Waste debuted an educational video on recycling featuring its mascot, Recycle Rosie. Rosie talks about recycling right at home, school and at work. She shows us the full recycle process from buying a product from the store, how it gets collected and processed by Allied Waste and how it ends up back on a store shelf as a recycled product! The children in attendance were also invited to compete in a coloring contest - 1st place went to Micah who received an award of $50, Brenden won 2nd place with a $25 award, and Mateo came in 3rd place with an award of $10. Congratulations!
